During the course Additive Manufacturing lab experience you will be introduced to the ability to exploit the increased complexity over conventional manufacturing methods. With AM we try to reduce the need for expensive tooling. The extended possibilities in freedom of design, however, render expertise in the design for additive manufactured parts indispensable. A solid design influences both, part quality and manufacturing costs and thus governs economic viability of this manufacturing technology.
In the past 20 years, Additive Manufacturing (AM) of metals such as Powder Bed Laser Fusion (PBLF) has received increasing attention from a largely diversified group of research institutes and industrial end users. After completing the Additive Manufacturing lab experience course you will have a great insight into the production environment of Additive Manufacturing. It is a hands-on training with leading data preparation software solutions. These solutions cover the entire process chain of converting a generated STL file input to the cut supported machine data file. In addition, starting and unpacking a metal Additive Manufacturing process is offered to learn more about the entire workflow of Additive Manufacturing processes. With Additive Manufacturing we try to reduce the need for expensive tools. This course is taught in English.
All participants will be granted a free trial version of Magics 19 and 3-matic STL provided by Materialise over the lengths of the AM Lab Experience training.
