Safety always comes first for us, Mikrocentrum. We do everything we can to prevent the spread of the corona virus. To achieve this, we always follow the current Dutch Government (RIVM) guidelines and we even go one step further. We set ourselves high standards when it comes to the safety of our guests, relations and employees. Every detail has been worked out: from the moment you step in up to the moment you leave our location. In order to act proactively, we keep a close eye on current events and we are in close contact with the local security regions and the municipalities in which we operate. Our goal is to facilitate companies as much as possible in a safe way with training, events and doing business on their way to the technology of the future.

Visiting Mikrocentrum: this is what you can expect

If you are visiting our location soon, it is good to know in advance what to expect. In order to offer you, our other guests and our employees the safest possible stay, we have taken various measures and ask you to follow a number of guidelines and protocols.

Prior to your visit

We ask you to do the health check within 24 hours prior to your visit. If you can answer one or more of these questions with Yes, we ask you to contact Mikrocentrum, reschedule your appointment and stay at home.

At arrival

When you enter our location, we ask you to disinfect your hands immediately (this is mandatory). At the entrance, your temperature is also measured automatically and contactlessly with an infrared camera. If it exceeds 38 degrees Celsius, you are unfortunately not allowed to enter our building. Is your temperature right? Then you can report directly at the reception. Every visitor is registered in connection with contact and source research. We keep the data you have entered for a maximum of one month. They are then destroyed in accordance with the guidelines of the GDPR.

During your visit

During your visit, we ask you to keep 1.5 meters away from others at all times and always follow the mandatory walking routes. For everyone's safety, we ask you to wear a mouth mask when you are on the move. This is not an obligation. The employees of Mikrocentrum always wear a mouth mask on both the ground floor and the first floor. Do you not have a mouth mask with you, but would you like to use it? Then you can get it at the reception or, in the case of a course, from your teacher. You are free to use our hot drinks machine in our building, but use the widely available Mikrocentrum touch pen to operate.

After your visit

Have you visited Mikrocentrum or participated in one of our activities in the past 10 days and have you tested positive for corona? Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can check and (anonymously) inform the people you have been in contact with.

Measures for a safe participation in courses

For each course, we look at which course form is most suitable: online, classroom or hybrid (combination online and classroom). For courses with practicals, special adaptations have been made so that these can also take place safely. For the classroom courses, we have customized the spaces so that we can guarantee 1.5 meter distance between the attendees. We take care of the right hygienic measures. For example, we increase the cleaning frequency in our building and there is sufficient disinfectant hand gel and soap available. We also adjust the catering facilities in accordance with the guidelines, so that you can make safe use of the facilities offered.

In the case of multi-day courses that will take place hybrid, we change the occupancy per course day, similar to the arrangements that currently apply to regular day courses. Have you registered for a course? Then you will soon be informed about the measures that apply to your course.

Q&A: answers to the most frequently asked questions

Will my course continue?
Currently the planned courses can continue. Mikrocentrum complies with the maximum group size as set in the RIVM measures (dated September 28, 2020). All course rooms are designed in such a way that the 1.5 meter distance rule can be guaranteed, the ventilation more than meets the requirements of the Dutch Building Decree and disinfection gel is available everywhere.

What does Mikrocentrum do to guarantee safety?
An overview of all measures can be found in the Mikrocentrum corona protocol for students and the NRTO protocol. You will also find a complete overview of all measures taken by us on this page.

What happens if my course is canceled due to corona?
We look at which approach is most suitable for each course and student. Where possible, the scheduled course will be moved or resumed at a later time. If the nature of the course permits, an online or hybrid (mix of classroom and online) variant can be chosen. If a course cannot take place, you will always be informed by our Training Department and we will look for a suitable solution together with you.

Are courses offered online?
Unfortunately, this is not possible for all courses as many of our courses include hands-on lessons. Where possible and if the situation requires it, our courses can be (partly) provided online. A number of courses are available in a digital classroom variant.

What if I cannot / may not attend a course due to corona?
In this case, we will work with you to determine which option best suits your situation. In many cases we can move your participation to a later time. If this does not work for whatever reason, we would be happy to work with you to find the best solution.

I am a student and I am sick or have corona, what should I do?
If you show signs of illness, we request that you contact our Training Department before 9 am via telephone number +31 (0) 40 296 99 33.

I am a student, have corona and attended a course in the last 10 days. What should I do?
If you have been diagnosed with corona and you have taken part in a course in the past 10 years, we request that you contact our Training department directly via telephone number +31 (0) 40 296 99 33. This is from importance for source and contact research and anonymous notification of persons you have been in contact with.

I have questions, who can I contact?
If you have any questions about your course or one of the corona measures, you can always contact our training department via +31 (0) 40 296 99 33 or or contact your contact person

Measures for safely participating events

Mikrocentrum strives to provide a maximum safe environment for all people involved in events. This applies to both our own events as well as events of third parties at our location. However, no two events are the same. That is why we adapt the approach per event. This means that, if necessary, we apply extra measures on top of those already taken.

Guidelines and protocols

Various guidelines and protocols have been created for Mikrocentrum's activities on location as well as for our events at other locations (such as trade fairs). We also follow protocols that have been drawn up by and in cooperation with various trade associations in the events sector. Mikrocentrum is also affiliated with the Dtuch initiative Veilig naar de Vakbeurs (Safetly visiting Trade Fairs). Visitors and exhibitors are informed shortly before the start of an event about which measures and protocols apply to that event.

Q&A: answers to the most frequently asked questions

Will the planned Mikrocentrum events take place?
All events scheduled before 1 June 2020 have been moved to a new date or have been cancelled. The Precision Fair and Vakbeurs Kunststoffen will continue, provided that we can organize these fairs safely and responsibly for all parties involved. From 29 September 2020, events in the Netherlands up to 30 people are possible on the Mikrocentrum location. This applies to our own events as well as those of other organizations. For events where potentially more people can attend, we are in consultation with the Safety region of Southeast Brabant. We expect to be able to communicate more about this in the near future. Should the situation change in such a way that we cannot guarantee safety, an event will be moved to a later date where possible or be cancelled.
